My best friend Anne died at the end of last year following a short but acute experience of this dreadful disease. She was a big part of my life and I had known her since we were teenagers. The diagnosis was a slow process but the medical and nursing teams she was looked after by were great. I hope that by funding research into this illness more people will live longer and enjoy life with their families and friends with comfort. I'm sure she's with the angels.
